Sherline NexGen Vertical Milling Machine
Series 5800 / 5810
Sherline Products is proud to introduce its latest Vertical Milling machine. With the increase of popularity of Sherline mills in industrial, laboratory and school training environments, the need to produce larger parts has led to the development of an extended capacity milling machine. Sherline’s NexGen Mills are available in Manual, and CNC-Ready configurations.
Sherline 8-Direction Milling Machine
Series 2000 / 2010
The deluxe 8-direction milling machine offers the most versatility of any Sherline mill. In addition to X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis travels, there are five additional directions that the headstock spindle can be positioned to do drilling or milling on your part from virtually any angle. With this many directions of movement, the machining possibilities are virtually limitless within the size capabilities of the machine. The 14″ long base also increases Y-axis travel by an additional 2″ compared to the Model 5400 mill. This is the mill for those who want to take their miniature machining abilities to the extremes.
Sherline Deluxe Vertical Milling Machine
Series 5400 / 5410
The deluxe 5400-series mill is our most popular mill. It comes equipped with all of Sherline’s standard features upgraded to include a laser engraved 12″ (305mm) solid aluminum base for 2″ or additional Y-axis travel, laser engraved scales on the table and base, 2-1/2″ (63mm) adjustable “zero” handwheel on the Z-axis and 2″ (51mm) adjustable “zero” handwheels on the X- and Y-axes, a mill headstock spacer to provide more throat distance and a 1/4″ drill chuck and drawbolt.
Sherline 3.5 x 17" Lathe w/ Adjustable Zero Handwheels
Series 4400 / 4410
If you are interested in a lathe with more distance between centers, the model 4400 (4410 metric) lathe is available. Several upgrades are also included. This lathe has 17″ between centers. The electronic speed control allows continuously variable speed control from 70 to 2800 RPM without belt changes. There is a second pulley position available that offers extra torque at low RPM if needed.
Sherline Standard Vertical Milling Machine
Series 5000 / 5100
The 5000-series mills are Sherline’s most economical mills and would be a good starting point for any miniature machine shop. They feature a solid 10″ (254mm) aluminum base, precision machined dovetailed slides with adjustable gibs, permanently lubricated spindle bearings, adjustable preload anti-backlash feed screws on the X- and Y-axes, two 1-5/8″ (41mm) laser engraved aluminum handwheels, one 2-1/2″ (63mm) laser engraved handwheel with thrust bearings, and many other features found only on the best commercial machines.
Sherline 3.5 x 8" Lathe w/ Adjustable Zero Handwheels
Series 4500 / 4530
The model 4500 (4530 metric) lathe is a standard model 4000 (4100 metric) 3.5″ x 8″ lathe upgraded to include two adjustable “zero” handwheels on the crosslide and leadscrew. Adjustable zero handwheels allow the user to reset the handwheel to a zero reading at any time without moving the leadscrew. This makes dialing in the next dimension easier, as you are starting from zero each time. It also helps eliminate math errors. This is a feature normally found on expensive full-size machines, but not often available on a machine of this size and price.
Sherline Precision Benchtop Lathe - 3.5 x 8"
Series 4000 / 4100
This lathe can turn a part up to 3.5” in diameter over the bed or up to 1.88” over the carriage without riser blocks. With an optional riser block, parts up to 6” in diameter can be turned over the bed. The lathe has 8” of space between centers. The electronic speed control allows continuously variable speed control from 70 to 2800 RPM without belt changes. There is a second pulley position available that offers extra torque at low RPM if needed. This lathe is a good choice for clockmakers, modelers, or those who will be working on small parts. It is also the most compact lathe we make and is easily used where space is at a premium and can be stored on a closet shelf.
