Makers Tool Works is excited to bring you the MendelMax 3. With thousands of hours of development and testing stretching over nearly a year, the new MendelMax raises the bar for what you can expect from Maker's Tool Works. We have evaluated every aspect of the design to ensure that you are receiving a printer that is easier to build and will perform better with minimal tuning and maintenance.
The MendelMax 3 Motion Platform is designed for people who already have a 3d Printer and want to upgrade it to the MendelMax 3. You will reuse your motors, electronics, 24V power supply and extruder (or optionally add one of ours).
Features
  • Large build volume with an included heated bed lets you print items that put other printers to shame.
  • Much easier assembly. Modular construction allows you to assemble the printer in stages or with teams.
  • Sleek and sturdy steel and aluminum frame looks great and is extremely rigid.
  • Only high quality components and materials used, guaranteeing reliable life and long service with minimal maintenance.
  • High speed two-start lead screws greatly increase your vertical travel speeds.
  • The electronics and power supply (Not included) are enclosed for safety, but remain easily accessible for maintenance.
  • Advanced new linear motion system guarantees highly precise motion with virtually no play.

Upgrade Kit Details

This upgrade kit allows you to upgrade your MendelMax 2 to the all new MendelMax 3. The MendelMax 3 is a complete revision, and replaces the majority of the hardware on your printer. It does require a complete rebuild, however the new printer eliminates almost all of the tricky parts of the assembly, resulting in a simpler and much more reliable build.

Please note the new Maxstruder is designed for 1.75mm filament only, and requires the E3D V6 only. It is not compatible with the J-Head or E3D V5 hot ends. All upgrade kits include parts that allow you to use your Maxstruder 1.0 with the MM3, so you can continue to use your current hot end and any 3mm filament you have and convert the extruder at a later date. If you are not sure what you have, please contact us for more information.
The majority of the components, have changed in the new design so this kit includes a significant portion of the full printer kit. You will reuse components from your MendelMax 2 where possible. It reuses your motors and electronics, several of the extrusions, the borosilicate glass, heat spreader, bed heater, and some hardware.

Please Note: The MendelMax 3 Kit shown is the FULL KIT. The Upgrade Kit does not include several of the components shown. The green printed parts shown in the photos are also not included. Those prints are an optional upgrade that can be printed on the MendelMax 3. The instructions to do so are included in the assembly manual.
